HTSA Stalwart Raises Over £1,800 For Prostate Cancer UK

As an 80-year old in the third year of remission, HTSA stalwart Bob Pepper recently completed his own 'March for Men' in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Reflecting on his hike, which had a distinctly Huddersfield Town theme, Bob said:

"It seemed only right for a life-long fan of Huddersfield Town to pay my respects to the club by walking from the centre of town to the Stadium, to complete a lap of honour round the pitch before walking on to the club’s training centre, prior to a return to the town centre.

This is a distance of some 5km (actually 6.5 km), commensurate with the 'March for Men' I did last year in Roundhay Park, and I appealed for support by suggesting that £1 per kilometre would put me on course to raise £5 for each year of my life.

Thanks to a fantastic response, I exceeded my original target within 12 hours of launching the appeal and that support continued beyond my wildest dreams so that the total raised by the day of the walk stood at £1784 on the Just Giving page plus £100 received directly plus £310 Gift Aid."
